If you wish to fit a smaller 500 litre water tank, you would get away with the 1.6 HDI - but the 2 litre is the better one to have.

New Van Conversion - Nissan Interstar

We’ve just completed a build on a Nissan Interstar, with 1000 litre two-man cleaning system.  The sturdy pure freedom reel, with bolt-down bracket, makes it easy to lift the hose in and out of the van and holds it in place while the van is in motion.   The customer wanted to use the reels both in and out of the van.  We have a set of four-way pole holders and pole tidies on the side of the van, for extra poles, and an extra pole tube to hold the broom.    2,500 litre tanks with a stainless steel frame were installed and rubber matting under it all, to add a protective coating, which also goes a little way up the sides - preventing water collecting in corners. 

IIn the side door, a second reel for the second user is installed and bolted down.  Outlet and filter housing also, fitted in the front and the main control panel is installed behind the sliding door, with two-man battery power, two pumps and an item to allow the reel on the sliding door, or turn it off to divert water to the rear of the van for it to be plugged in while the van is locked up. 

The Orion T-Smart is the latest bit of useful kit we have been fitting to vehicles.  This enables us to adjust the voltage at the point the charging kicks in on the split relay.  If you have a van with an alternator that charges a little lower on ticking over, you can lower the voltage on it, but the intelligent system with the T-Smart means you don’t have to worry.
